Savannah, Georgia: Birthplace of the Girl Scouts

Savannah is one of the oldest cities in America and is steeped in American history. This charming southern city is the site of several famous Revolutionary and Civil War battles and is renowned for its architecture, boasting beautifully restored historic neighborhoods, stately old mansions, Victorian homes, hidden gardens and old plantations. Visit the Girl Scout First Headquarters and participate in the programs at Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace.  Savannah is home to many famous firsts, including the first African American Baptist Congregation in the U.S. and the first Girl Scout Troop!

    Participate in the Girl Scout Militia Program at Old Fort Jackson:

  • Reenactment of a Civil War military drill
  • Classroom demonstrations
  • Cannon firing demonstration
  • Visit Tybee Island
    Take a dolphin cruise
    Enjoy free time in Savannah
    Optional: Historic Savannah Carriage Tour

    Day 4:  Savannah
    Visit Laurel Grove Cemetery
    Depart for home
